VULCAN RANGE

The Vulcan range are all rubber-resin based products, particularly suited to applications where surface flexibility without cracking is required (e.g. ship decks). May be applied to most hard surfaces requiring tough, durable, sure footing. All variants are single-part and self curing, and can be applied over the top of any existing, sound coating or paint. A traditional approach to slip problems.

The HIGH PROFILE range is for the most heavy-duty applications and contains pre-mixed high-traction grit. The LOW PROFILE range is for finer applications and comes with a choice of fine, medium or coarse traction granules for on-site mixing. Both of these products are solvent based.

For applications where there is concern over ventilation on application (e.g. confined spaces) or flammability, there are WATER-BASED alternatives.

Vulcan High Profile Slip Resistant Rubber Base Coatings - 99002-99007           
Single part with integrated heavy traction grit, provides a durable coarse slip resistant surface.
A heavy duty rubber resin base allows this slip resistant coating to be applied to new, as well as, old concrete, steel and wood. Recommended for surfaces requiring a tough, durable, work safe surface.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

Suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Excellent sure footing even in wet areas - stairways, loading docks, catwalks, shower rooms, wheel chair ramps, entranceways, pool decks, etc. Ideal for swimming pool decks.
Protects external concrete against deicing damage, oil, grease and trade soiling. Stops old concrete dusting, and  produces a seal in new concrete that will retard moisture for full strength curing.
Resistant to Ultra Violet light, with good chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and glycol.
Low odour, USDA & Agri-Foods Canada approved.

Colours available: Grey, Green, Red, Yellow, Black, Blue. 

Coverage approximately  9 square metres per US gallon (3.78 litres).

Application by brush or lint-free, texturising roller.  

Curing time: To touch and between coats - 8 Hours. Open to traffic after 24 hours. If more than one coat desired, apply second coat between 8 and 24 hours of first coat.

Vulcan Low Profile Slip Resistant Rubber Base Coatings 97005 (Grey) and 97008 (Clear)

Have all the same characteristics of the High Profile Product, but suited to areas where a finer finish is required. Supplied with a sachet of tempered traction granules which can be added as desired to increase traction. Choose fine, medium or coarse traction granules.

Available in grey and clear.

Application by brush or lint-free low pile roller.  With medium and coarse granules, two coats recommended - sprinkle dry granules onto wet first coat, then when dry, seal with a second coat. Fine granules best mixed into coating.

Coverage approximately 32 square metres per US Gallon (3.78 litres).

Curing time: To touch and between coats - 8 Hours. Open to traffic after 24 hours. If more than one coat desired, apply second coat between 8 and 24 hours of first coat.

WHERE THERE IS A CONCERN FOR FLAMMABILITY, OR ENVIRONMENTAL REASONS TO AVOID SOLVENT FUMES DURING APPLICATION (lack of ventilation and/or confined spaces) there are equivalent water-based products to the above.

These products are high performance coatings, based on water-born thermoplastic polymer rubber resin technology. Can be used indoors or outdoors, suitable for metal, concrete, plastics and hardwood surfaces. Recommended for surfaces subjected to extremes of temperature. Non toxic - safe for use in food processing environments.

Outstanding corrosion and humidity resistance on metals, waterproofing, will dry under adverse conditions. Excellent gloss, colour retention and UV resistant. Profiles as above. Excellent chemical resistance, except to certain concentrated acids. 

Apply by brush or roller. Self-priming. Approximate coverage per US Gallon (3.78 litres) - 27 square metres (high profile), 36 square metres. Curing time: 30 minutes to touch, open to traffic after just 6 hours.
